ColdFusion / @font-face


  • Mike Toepfer of UNH Cooperative Extension present an overview of How ColdFusion works and then a review of some of the new tags that are in ColdFusion 9. Topics will include making google maps, inserting media into web pages - not just FLV files!, and using spreadsheets online.

    Michael Toepfer is a Local Area Network Manager for the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension. He has over 10 years experience in developing web based applications using ColdFusion. Toepfer has a Master of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire in Natural Resources, A BS in Computer Science from Franklin Pierce College and a BS in Geography from Northern Illinois University.

  • Meg McCarthy of Meg McCarthy Design will talk about new techniques in Web typography.  Based on the book Fluid Web Typography by Jason Cranford Teague, we'll start by reviewing the principles of Web typography, and talk about ways you can work with fonts beyond Arial, Verdana, and Georgia. Special attention will be given to font linking in CSS.

    Meg is a graphic designer and Web developer living and working in Marlboro, Vermont. After receiving a certificate in Web Development from Marlboro College Graduate School, most of her work now is designing and building Web sites, mostly in Joomla with the occasional WordPress site thrown in. She also teaches occasionally at Community College of Vermont and Marlboro College Graduate School. Meg is Co-Manager of NEAUG.
