Marlboro College Graduate Center
Brattleboro, VT

directions

Agenda:

  • 1 PM: Barb Ackemann of Iris Lines Designs will talk about HTML Puzzles. Inspired by Andy Clarke's Transcending CSS, Barb Ackemann has created "HTML puzzles" to generate discussion about semantic HTML, challenging us all to think first about meaning and to go even farther in separating content from presentation.
  • 2:30 PM: Many websites have, or need, a calendar of events.  In this talk, Steve Judd, a web developer with UNH Cooperative Extension, will discuss ways to make these calendars more useful by allowing users to subscribe to calendars, add events to their personal calendars, and integrate event locations with maps. This can often be accomplished by simply crafting appropriate links to a third-party site (e.g., Google Calendar and Google Maps).
  • Raffle for free book drawing and Adobe schwag. Books courtesy of O'Reilly!
  • As always, there is no admission fee to attend our meetings.
