Web design for ROI: Turning Browsers into Buyers & Prospects into Leads
Author(s): Lance Loveday & Sandra Niehaus
Details: New Riders Press (October 27, 2007)
ISBN-10: 0-321-48982-9 Paperback This is a must-read for website developers, designers,
engineers, marketers and
oh yes
owners - your clients. If you think that you
know it all, you don't! I read this book twice and used it for my
recent marathon e-commerce workshop.
The authors have done a great job in focusing on the
crucial goals, strategies and techniques of redesigning a site so that it is
customer-centric and provides the desired conversions - buying something,
completing and submitting a form, ordering a free product or brochure, etc..
It's all about the customer.
Beginning with discussions about conversion, ROI
(return on investment), and the web business approach, the authors move
seamlessly into techniques of building or redesigning key areas of any
successful website. They include information on establishing site
metrics and how to approach using web analytics.
You may be surprised, and excited, at how they
repurpose and redesign 'traditional' thinking about business online. The
reasoning is flawless; knowledge applied should lead to excellent
results!
Don't miss Chapter 10, where a valuable resource list
awaits you!
As Kelly Goto, gotomedia CEO, notes in her Foreword to
this book:
"Done properly, this approach results
in increased revenue and lead generation. Sound easy? After you read the book
and try its no-nonsense approach, you may think so. My advice: read, review,
implement and measure. The results will be
worthwhile."
Bravo, Lance and Sandra! Many thanks for writing this book!
And many thanks to NEAUG for the opportunity to read and review this important
book. |
